Contribution of Physics Education Students at the Institut Pendidikan Indonesia (IPI) to Quantum Science and Technology in Commemoration of World Quantum Day

In celebration of World Quantum Day on April 14, 2025, students of the Physics Education Program at the Institut Pendidikan Indonesia (IPI) organized a series of educational activities aimed at enhancing quantum literacy among future physics teachers. These activities are part of a broader initiative to empower prospective educators with a deep understanding of modern physics—particularly quantum mechanics—through both conceptual and historical approaches.

The activities include:

1. Interactive Workshop: "Quantum for Future Physics Teachers"

This workshop offers an engaging learning experience on the fundamental concepts of quantum mechanics through simple visualizations and group discussions. Participants are also introduced to quantum learning platforms such as Qiskit and web-based quantum computing simulations.

2. Public Lecture: The History of Quantum Physics

This lecture highlights the historical development of quantum theory, from Max Planck’s initial ideas to the rise of modern quantum computing. Students explore paradigm shifts in scientific thought and their relevance to contemporary education.

3. Introduction to Influential Figures in Quantum Science

As part of character development for future educators, this session introduces the lives and contributions of major quantum scientists such as Albert Einstein, Niels Bohr, Werner Heisenberg, Erwin Schrödinger, and notable contemporary researchers. Discussions focus on the values of scientific perseverance, critical thinking, and global collaboration in advancing science and technology.

These initiatives represent a meaningful step for IPI Physics Education students in becoming catalysts for introducing quantum physics in schools and nurturing a new generation of physics teachers ready to embrace the quantum era.
